This program is being presented by the Inuit Art Society (IAS) in cooperation with the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art in Indianapolis, IN and the Canadian Consulate of Detroit.

Inuit Art Society (IAS) Annual Meeting registration table opens. New members welcome!
5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Private reception for members of the Eagle Society of the Eiteljorg Museum and IAS registered meeting attendees for the opening of the 3 month exhibition, “Our Land – Contemporary Art from the Arctic”.
6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Reception continues (now open to all Eiteljorg Museum members and guests).
Welcome speeches include:

  • Robert Noble – Consulate General of the Canadian Consulate, Detroit, MI
  • Jennifer Complo McNutt – Curator of Contemporary Art, Eiteljorg Museum

Introduction of three Inuit guest artists.
Throat-singing demonstration by Kendra Tagoona and Charlotte Qamaniq along with drum dancing by Peter Irniq.
Viewing of the “Contemporary Art from the Arctic” exhibit.
